STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1) Ensure that pdf.js is turned off and that there is no PDF plugin, so PDF files are either handed off to helper apps or downloaded. 2) Load the attached HTML testcase (coming up). 3) Click the "Click me" link. EXPECTED RESULTS: As in non-e10s mode, the tab that gets opened due to the target="_blank" gets closed once we figure out we're doing a dowload. ACTUAL RESULTS: The new tab doesn't get closed and sticks around instead.

For what it's worth, I ran into this on an actual website, in case it matters. I did try reproducing with a "data:application/pdf," URL but that did NOT have this problem for some reason.
I can reproduce this. I'm cancelling the needinfo so this goes into our triage list.
