+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1110767 +++

I think what we implemented in bug 1110767 for the search bar should be ported to about:home/newtab.
Severity: minor → normal
Priority: -- → P3

This WFM on the latest nightly build. I guess we fixed it somewhere along the way.
