STR:

1. Go to any page with an RSS feed (I was using scribbling.net)
2. Open the app menu
3. Select the "Page" menu item
4. Select "Subscribe to Page"
5. Select "Scribbling.net >> Feed"

Expected result:

I am shown multiple options, including an option for feed reader apps I have on my phone (NewsBlur, in this instance).

Actual result:

I only see an option to subscribe with My Yahoo!

Do we have a way to get third party apps in this menu? (Do we think anybody uses this functionality?)
No, I don't really think people use this.

We've talked about various things we want to do with this, but haven't made any progress.

This is potentially a bug that someone could mentor, or mfinkle or antlam might have ideas about where we want to take this. And of course, we could just remove the functionality, if there's a low-cost way to make it not a dead-end in the UI.

Summary: need to open up "subscribe to this page" to third party apps → Include third-party apps in "subscribe to this page"
UI Telemetry shows low usage, but higher than I assumed given how hard it is to find the action.

I have thought about adding support for subscribing to native apps (Feedly, etc) in ways similar to what we do with Quick Share.

There are ways for web-based feed handlers to add themselves as targets, but I forget the API and I'm not sure if it was ever implemented in Fennec.

Might be:

This is a product request, I don't think triage is the right place to talk about this.

Create Aha card for funnel meeting.

I also wonder if this feature requests conflicts with our content updates idea in the long term.
