Steps how to reproduce with unofficial (from <http://seamonkey.callek.net/contrib/>) en-US Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0 Build 20160205232941 (Default Classic Theme) on on German WIN7 64bit: 1. Launch Seamonkey (via Profile Manager) » for some milliseconds on white background strange "rainbow color bars" will be shown. Seems not dangerous, but looks blood-curdling or 2. From Browser click ChatZilla symbol in in status bar for launch CZ » color bars as in step 1 or 3. From Browser click email client symbol in in status bar for launch » color bars as in step 1 Additional info: a) My PC: 64 bit AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor 3.2 GHz, 4GB RAM, Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 430, Monitor HANNS-G HL225DBB 1920 x 1080 WIN7 64 bit

It might be a driver issue. Try turning off Hardware Acceleration via SeaMonkey Preference window.

Switching HA off heals the problem, after switching on problem reappears (always after quit - relaunch) I never saw that again with other versions, problem only visible with 20160205232941
