Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0.4 Waterfox/43.0.4 Build ID: 20160114174705 Steps to reproduce: On Windows 10, set file explorer to hide extensions for known file types. Attached a pdf to an email and send to vendor. Attachment in email does not show extension. Sendinf computer will know it is a pdf and can open with appropriate program. Actual results: Vendor received email with attachment, but the attachment type is unknown as no extension is shown for the attachment resulting in client desktop email not knowing what program to open the file with. Expected results: Thunderbird should be showing the extension in email regardless of what the OS settings are for showing/hiding known attachments and send file with extension even though sender computer hides known extensions so that recipient computer knows what file type it is.

I'm not aware that the OS settings has any impact here. Are you certain it is a factor? (doesn't fit the definition of security sensitive - removing)
