The open dialog in Windows should have the option to choose "All Files" in the
file type selector combo. See open dialog in browser to see what is missing.

reassign to myself. Historically, we haven't been able to open "All Files" in
the editor. For this reason, I am moving to M15.
The reason for this is that sometimes a file might be HTML, but might have a
non-standard extension (eg. test.asp), so you would still want to be able to
open it.
IMHO, I don't think it is wise to allow this! At least not until we have tested
what happens when we open a non-html or text file in the editor.

I'm still against putting "All files" (*.*) in the filter list. If a user uses
a non-"htm" or "html" extension, then they can manually type "*.mystupidext" in
the dialog to show those files. And you probably can't even generate a "bad"
extension for the Mac, correct?
Almost all Windows applications allow the choice of viewing "All Files" in the
Open dialog, and I think it will be a mistake for Mozilla to ommit this choice.
If I want to open a file I usually know its name, but not it's file extension,
so if it is not one of the standard ones then not having the option of viewing
all files means I would have to go back into the Windows explorer to find its
exact file type and then go back into the Netscape Open dialog to type in its
exact name. I think the "All Files" option should be added to the open dialog
now, and a new bug should be filed if Mozilla has a problem opening non-html or
non-text files.
