Build ID: 20160304115459

Steps to reproduce:

Opening a large mbox file (provided by many mailing list archives, like [openafs-info@openafs.org](https://lists.openafs.org/pipermail/openafs-info.mbox/openafs-info.mbox)) requires many GB of RAM and possibly more (I didn't finish opening).

Actual results:

Needed to terminate thunderbird after it consumed more than 5 GB RAM.

Expected results:

The resources should be limited since there's no scenario where it's unavoidable to provide multiple GB of expensive RAM to read 200 MB of data.
I don't think this is the actual problem; many people have much larger mbox files (e.g. the All Mail folder for Gmail users), and I haven't seen complaints like this for Gmail...
Do you also see the problem if the folder is repaired and Thunderbird is started in safe mode?

kritcher,
which file is 200MB - the .msf file?
Is this for the Inbox? Or a different folder to which you have filtered or moved the mail?
