User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/48.0.2564.116 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: I have an IMAP account, and archive messages locally (usually all messages from the previous month). When I search for a message (CTRL+K), the archived messages show up on the search results, but when I try to open it, no message is shown. I managed to fix this by rebuilding the global database (using these steps: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/rebuilding-global-database), but I think this should be automatic. Detailed steps below: 1- In an IMAP account, archive messages locally 2- Search for a message in global search 3- Open an archived message from the search results Actual results: An empty message list shows up. Expected results: The desired message, or list of messages, shows up.

Fernando. Please install glodaquilla addon. For the local archive folder, please expose the glodaid and on disk columns. Then do an archive function on a message. For the message in the archive folder, does the message get a gloda ID does the on disk column show a green icon?

Just reproduced the bug. I attached screenshots with the info you asked. Is there anything else you need?

I am affected by this bug. It is the most severe flaw in Thunderbird that I am currently experiencing.
In my experience, The problem is corrected by rebuilding the Gloda database. Some, but not all, messages which are in the Local Folders and which Gloda cannot find have an empty cell in the Glodaquilla plugin's Gloda ID column. I am using current Thunderbird (presently 60.7.0) on Mac OS X 10.11.6.
Workaround: select the local folder into which the disappeared message was archived. Enable Quick Filter. Type search text into Quick Filter search box. Desired message is found.
