Looks like another parallax implementation? But also with changing the blur on scroll.

Discussed this with Markus. There's nothing obvious that we could ask the site owners to change right now, but two things would mitigate the performance here:

  1) If the site owners used a scrolling clip, using the "clip" property.
     This requires us to first support scrolling clips in the compositor (bug 1214146).

  2) Implementing filters (such as blurs) in the compositor (bug 869496).

I'm going to keep the [apz-evangelism] tag for (1) (actionable after bug 1216146 is fixed).

This report has been forwarded to the proper department at Bloomberg.
They have fixed the issue. Seems they simplified the page by just blurring the background image file. So no more clear/blur effect while scrolling, same result in Chrome.
