If pages use positioning or pointer-events:none you often end up with elements that are invisible above the ones you want to inspect and/or the elements you want to inspect becoming unclickable. If the page is sufficiently complex, it can be pretty hard to find the element you're *actually* interested in. Feature request: if Gecko and the inspector can detect that there are several "innermost" elements underneath the coordinates I clicked, it would be great if the inspector could explain this fact and allow me to pick which node I actually wanted. See attached test for a demo.

We discussed this today during inspector triage meeting, and decided that this would require more thinking. I'm going to ping Matteo since he had some ideas about this. Matteo: do you mind explaining the important aspects to be considered here.
