User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:48.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/48.0 Build ID: 20160610001751 Steps to reproduce: In about:preferences#advanced unclicked Use Autoscrolling and then closed the Preferences tab and reopened it to make sure it was still unchecked. Then I closed the tab again. Actual results: Hours later I middle clicked on something, and lo and behold, Autoscroll was still enabled. Looking in Preferences, so magical force, behind my back, had turned it back on! Expected results: When I turn it off it should stay off!

Wait. In $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/*.default*/user.js I had user_pref("general.autoScroll", true); Maybe that caused it. I sure wish a notification would pop-up saying there was a conflict.
