FTL's OS() function returns the current operating system and it can be used to select the proper variant of a translation.  Once bug 1291915 is fixed we should port the platform-specific translations in /browser/menubar.ftl and /browser/toolbar.ftl so that they use the { OS() -> ) select expression.
