We want to ship Firefox with a good list of search engines for Kabyle. We'll do this in three phases: First, the localization team and flod (Francesco Lodolo) will look at the market for the language and come up with a good set of search providers. Mohammed, we'll need your input on this. The guidelines for making recommendations are found on <https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Firefox/Productization>. We currently use this set for en-US, to which we can fall back in the case of lacking localized alternatives: Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Amazon, eBay, Twitter, Wikipedia After we decided on a particular search engine, flod will contact the owner and ask for permission and for specifics, like proper search flags. Mohammed, we'll likely need your help to at least get the owner's contact information. Once we have a specification on what the search engines for Kabyle should look like, flod and the localization team will work on an implementation on that. flod will create and attach patches for the desired changes and get them reviewed. After a successful review, flod will land them. Mohammed, if you're interested, you could create the patches, too. You'd ask flod for review on those before landing. Please don't commit any modifications in browser/searchplugins to the hg repository without a patch reviewed by flod, Stas, Axel or someone else appointed by flod. The data here is sensitive to users and our search partners, thus requiring extra care here. The Kabyle team and flod will be driving this bug to completion.

After looking with the kab team: Global search : https://www.google.fr/ E-commerce: http://www.ebay.fr/ Spesific interest : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portail:Berb%C3%A8res RSS reader: https://fr.news.yahoo.com/sitemap/ As most of thesse resources are not Kabyle localized yet, we would like use fr resources. Most (if not all) my community (Kabyle) is also french spreaking. M. Belkacem.

For Google we'll use the en-US, it will then redirect users based on language. For WikiPedia: French version? I see a https://kab.wikipedia.org/ page Note that RSS reader is not a website with news, it's a web application to read RSS feed, e.g. news (there are only a few of those these days). That's also subject for a different bug ;-) To summarize, based on the en-US list. bing eBay (French) google wikipedia (French or Kabyle?) yahoo (French) Should we keep also amazon.fr?

Hi, Yeah let's keep the same as French localization preferences for now.

French localization has other searchplugins, for example Portail Lexical - CNRTL, which I don't think it's relevant for Kabyle. The suggested list for Kabyle should be: bing google wikipedia (still unclear which language) yahoo In the meantime I've discovered that we should not include eBay.

Completely forgot: can you tell me translation for 'Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia'? It should be something like 'Wikipedia, tasanayt tilellit' based on their logo.
