Details

With the new highlighting UI enabled,

1) Open page A, search for some text in the page
2) Open a new window
3) Open page B, search for some text in the page
4) Wait ~5 seconds

The page overlay that darkens the page changes to solid black (in a few steps), making both pages unreadable.

This is on an 8/22 Nightly, OS X.
Fixed by bug 1279695.

Reproduced the initial issue on Nightly 51.0a1 (Build ID: 20160825030226) on Windows 10 x86_64 bit machine.

Verified fixed using the latest Nightly 52.0a1 (Build ID: 20160920030429) on Windows 10, Ubuntu 16.04 and Mac OS X 10.11.
