My apologies if this isn't the right forum to raise this as a concern. I've been
developing webpages using Macromedia's Dreamweaver and have encountered some
serious problems with both the DIV and SPAN layer tags. My understanding is that
Netscape 4.x browsers are supposed to handle these, but in practice they do not.
I have tried 4.07 on a PPC Mac w/ System 7.5.5, 4.5 on a PPC Mac with System 8.5
and 4.07 on a Win95 machine. In all cases, layers did not align in the correct
place, their initial visibility status was not preserved, the size of the layers
themselves changed (usually shrank) on loading, and and "behaviors" (as
Macromedia refers to them)--functions such as onMouseUp Show/Hide layers--did not
work properly. Either, some of the behavior worked (some layers were shown, but
layers supposed to be hidden were not) or the behaviors didn't work at all.

Again, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this concern, and I'm sorry
that I don't have any code to send you, but I thought that if you didn't know
about this problem already, you should. Thanks,

Ben Mueller

Jan -- This is not an acceptable bug report. I have no idea where to begin to
fix this. Please get back to this guy to build a small test case.
