I noticed that my fan was running constantly on a laptop that should have been idle, and that Firefox was pegging an entire core. I opened the profiler and found that the problem was caused by WorkDay, which I had accidentally left open in a background tab:

Apparently some timer is running almost constantly, and forcing tons reflows in the process.

I closed the tabs before I looked into the details of the profiling data, so I'm not sure what exactly the code in question was doing.

Hey kmag,

I know it's been 2 years since you filed this...and chances are you don't hang out in WorkDay too much (at least, I hope you're not subjected to that). But do you know if this is still an issue? If so, could you post a profile?

You know... The really sad thing is that I left Workday open in a background tab last Friday, after some part of it was broken and I couldn't submit my form, then came back to it today, noticed it said my session had timed out, and closed it... before I realized that I should have checked its resource usage. Despite the fact that I had been planning to intentionally leave a Workday tab open to re-check this bug.

So, back to square one... I'll open a Workday tab and leave it open in the background, and see what happens.

The tab that I left open this time still seems to have an interval timer, but at least doesn't force nearly constant reflows.
