Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:48.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/48.0
Build ID: 20160823121617

Steps to reproduce:

display a long pdf document (datasheet with 70 pages). FF loads a few pages.
When I scroll below the last page loaded, it starts loading the next set of pages.
If I then scroll bacjk, it reloads the pages that I have already seen

Expected results:

if not on mobile connection, download the whole document so that I can scroll without additional waiting time (all other browsers do that).

If I scroll back to a page already seen, it should be from cache and not downloaded again

Tis would be a good feature on a mobile connection, but it is LAN via router
It appears with some PDF, not all, I think.
Maybe rendering of pages not in the viewport is removed to release memory allocated for that.
Component: Untriaged → PDF Viewer
Summary: pdf does no preload unvisible pages, reloads on scrolling back → PDF Viewer does no preload unvisible pages, reloads on scrolling back

Works for me with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:100.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/100.0 Build:20220110093702

If it occurs with a specific pdf, can you provide it?
