Firefox marks it's own spelling suggestions as incorrectly spelled.

I type "bonefide" or "bonafide" in the English UK addon dictionary [1] and the result is that it suggests "bona fide", which is correct. The problem is that immediately after suggesting and changing to "bona fide" the spellchecker immediately marks "fide" as a spelling mistake.

I know that this is likely an issue with the dictionary, but it does seem a little odd that the spell checker is even capable of marking its own suggestions as an error...

Ahhhh…

@Wayne, sorry for taking so long to reply.

My quick guess is that Hunspell detects “bona” as a word and separates it from the other word.

Then, when the user selects to correct the typo, “fide” probably is not in the dictionary.

ahhhhhhh… take a look at the guy's version of the dictionary: “V 2.41”, it must be some 8 years old, maybe the word wasn't there at the time.

Meanwhile, let me add “fides” (plural) to the dictionary for Saturday's release.
