So I am submitting this bug on behalf of friend, user of screen reader.

He is having difficulties focusing the remember password popup after submitting a login form. Sometimes we can do it by pressing F6 or pressing Shift+Tab (if he is on the top on the page), but accordingly to him it is not an easy process.

There are also two buttons with the same "Remember" label (the first expands to select the "never" options, and the second one is the "real" remember option).

He suggests that this popup could work more like the download popup which is navigable and accessible.

Thank you
Part of this is bug 653226, but that's only for the mess that is our menu buttons.

Now that bug 653226 is closed, I filed bug 1491744 to deal with the labelling of this button which opens the menu. There's also bug 1487065 regarding the inaccessible "Never Save" option in the menu. Let's restrict the scope of this bug to the difficulty in focusing the password popup.

Cláudio, with all the above bugs resolved, does your problem still reproduce?

Hi.

It seems that there are still some accessibility issues with the save password panel (tested in Firefox 109.0b6 with the Orca screen reader on Linux and KDE). Specifically, the panel is not focused when it is presented (after a login form is submitted), making it difficult for users to interact with the panel form controls by using just the keyboard.

Also, while users can interact with the save credentials form using the buttons access keys, it would be helpful if the screen reader announced information such as "credentials saved" or "credentials not saved" when the user saves their credentials using these buttons access keys.

Although users can access and interact fully with the save password panel by using the F6, Tab and Enter keys, it would be more efficient if the panel was focused when the page reloads (after the page login form is submitted) or if an access key was provided to focus the panel directly using the keyboard.

In short, the situation has improved, but the focus issue after the page reloads is not completely solved.

Thanks for all your work.
