User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0
Build ID: 20161104212021

Steps to reproduce:

Thunderbird Preferences/Options sorting a column

Clicking on the heading ‘Content Type’ or ‘Action’ sorts it.

On Windows, both left- and right-click sorts a column or changes the sort order (ascending/descending).

On Linux Mint, only left-click sorts a column.

Is this the correct behaviour, as I understood on Windows only left-click should sort the column as right-click shows the context menu (as the behaviour in other sections of Thunderbird in Windows)?

Thank you

Is there a possibility to disable right click on this list headers?

XUL problem? This also happens in Firefox preferences application list. bug 1150377

There is also bug 349478 and Bug 148545 - Right-clicking a column header should list available columns instead of using context menu for an item
