I encountered endless master password prompts on my first restart of 51.0b1 after Bug 1332108 - Shutdown Thunderbird hangs. Filing bug because this extensive prompting seems different from all other master password bug reports in https://mzl.la/2jAIlQZ (I have no secure newsgroups. I have gmail but I don't think bug 1176399 was a factor - I don't normally see multiple prompts for my gmail accounts) The difference is, I probably gave ~20 master password responses - no accounts logged in, and no end in sight for the master prompts. I normally get 3 master prompts on startup, 1 per account that has a saved password and thus those acounts get logged in automatically. Bug 1180374 comment 24 might be a match (but the bug itself is not a match) where Konstantin cites getting 6 master password prompts per account - but his accounts loggged in. I have no idea what caused this. post-hang related seems reasonable guess but beyond that I don't know - hard to even speculate. I had some tabs open. perhaps panacea.dat was toasted (no idea, but startup was not slow) I might have suspected corruption, but second startup was completely normal (after killing TB). Had I been thinking clearly I would have looked at the error console or done remote debug via firefox. It will probably never happen again.

I've never seen this again. It might be gone already, or after bug 1180374 or bug 1176399 are fixed. Either way, for now calling this incomplete
