can't get email from server

I've used TB on win XP for many years. I've upgraded to a win 10 machine and downloaded TB v 45.7.1. I don't remember the TB version on the XP machine. It can be discovered if it is germane.

I have an email account on gmail, hotmail and two on yahoo, one for me, tj_marlin@sbcglobal.net, and one for my wife, kenda.marlin@sbcglobal.net. These two email accounts were setup thru my DSL provider, used to be PacBel but now is  ATT. 

Everything worked fine on the XP machine.

But on the win10 machine the kenda.marlin account can not retrieve emails from yahoo. The other 3 accounts, gmail, hotmail and the tj_marlin@sbcglobal.net, can all send and retrieve emails.

kenda.marlin can send emails, so the password is ok. emails that are sent to kenda.marlin do arrive on the yahoo account; i logon to yahoo thru a web browser and see them in the inbox.

I've checked the account settings and compared the tj_marlin account to the kenda.marlin account. Everything is the same except of course the email address and the password.

I do not receive any error messages.

I'm at a loss as to what do do.

I fixed it!

grasping at straws I deleted the kenda.marlin account from TB and re-created the account.

now the account works! and the other account remains working.

why do I hate computers??
