[Steps to reproduce]:
1.Launch Nightly 54.0a1 with a new profile
2.Set "dom.forms.datetime" and "dom.forms.datetime.timepicker" pref to True in about:config
3.In the URL bar enter "data:text/html, <input type="date">"
4.Click to trigger picker
5.Select date using picker

[Expected result]:
The picker should be closed after click on the title or down arrow

[Actual result]:
The picker is automatically collapsed after date is selected

Spoke with Morpheus and he confirmed that picker should also automatically collapse when a date is selected.

Yes, just like what Wesley said. But I do feel curious about why you think "The picker should be closed after click on the title or down arrow?" And could you be more specific on where "title" and "down arrow" are? I think there might be some misunderstanding.

Indeed, I believe this was a misunderstanding from my side. I assumed that it should have the same behaviour like the one for month/year picker, but it makes more sense the way you've mentioned it.
