nexus-5-8 connected to autophone-2 port USB2.1 is having a difficult time charging. The google search widget on the home screen was consuming 20% of the cpu until I killed it.

Even with the search killed it is only charging about 3%/hr.

Van, Stephen: Can you drop by the lab and check on it?

If it is still in good shape physically, can you remove the google search from the home page and go into settings and turn off the voice activation settings? I think that might help.

We might want to disconnect it temporarily from the host and plug it into an AC charger to get it back up to 100%.

While you are there, if you could do a quick visual inspection of the devices that would be great.

I've:
1) taken out of the lab
2) plugged it in to a new mini-USB cable w/dedicated charger and AC outlet
3) visually inspected the battery
4) turned off voice recognition and filtering out offensive words in Language + Speech settings

It's now at 46% and remains climbing; will keep an eye on it and report back around 1pm PDT.
