I need a Windows 7 VM temporarily to test some Windows Error Reporting package weirdness. I don't need any specific environment (like a build environment) just a bare Windows 7 VM. I don't think I'll need it for long, maybe a couple hours. (Depending, of course, when I get access to it and if it's late in the day.)

Email sent to :tjr for further instructions. Loaning machines: - t-w732-ec2-tjr Hi Tom, I am going to assign this to you to keep track of the loan. When you are finished with the loan forever, please comment stating so here in the bug, and mark the bug as RESOLVED. By the way, now that this aws instance has been created, starting and stopping it can happen in a flash! If you are not going to be using this machine for multiple hours, let us know in this bug and we can stop it. Comment again when you want it started back up. * For faster turnaround, ping #releng (look for nick with 'buildduty')

I do, but it seems likely that I will need a box like this (a x64 one would actually be more useful) for... a long time. I have a Windows machine at home, but mine is Win10 and I need Win 7 (or maybe 8, I don't know if 8 works). I don't do builds on it, all I do is install some packages and run some scripts to manually perform the work being developed in Bug 1361058. But even after that bug is closed there is a followup bug that will need to be completed (and filed) before I'm completely done with this. So I guess what I'm asking is if there is a permanent or semi-permanent windows box I can have a user account on and use occasionally that is cheap for us. Maybe this one could be downgraded in resources (and switched to x64), or maybe there's an automation box sitting around I could use.

Unfortunetly we don't have have Win 7 x64 VM for loan and also we don't have a permanent or semi-permanent windows box.

@tjr: Is this instance still needed, or it can be terminated and removed from inventory?

Believe it or not I do still need it. (I'm working on eliminating my dependency on it though.) However I don't use it frequently, so we can shut it down between use if that's helpful.

Thank you! I completed the operation, you can shut it down again. (I don't think I'll need it for a couple weeks.)
