Details
(Whiteboard: [addon: FireTray])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 Build ID: 20170316213829 Steps to reproduce: right click on any mail in the message list Actual results: A huge menu opens, which seems to contain all possible menu items, including for example "mute", "unmute", "play", "stop", "copy mail adress", "open in browser", "add to dictionary" and other items, which should not be in this menu. Expected results: A menu with just the options related to the message list like "mark as read". The issue came with the upgrade to thunderbird 52.

Is problem gone when Thunderbird is started in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird If yes, please determine which addon is causing the problem. Please post your results.

Indeed,it is gone. Will try a test for different addons later. The Menu contains a unresolved entry "[glodaComplete.webSearch1.label]"

Whiteboard: [addon:???]
Seems to come from the FireTry Addon. As the addon wasn't updated for a long time, a thunderbird update probably broke it.
