Is there any way I could save a seperate message to a file and then import it as
a new message?

Right click on the message/select "File/Save as/File" and save the message as
eml file.
You can open this eml file with mozilla but AFAIK there is no way to import it
back as full message.

I am using 0.9.9 on win2k.

File->Import ... does not support importing an eml file.
Dragging the file into Mozilla Mail also does not work for me - in neither of
the window panes. Same with cut/paste from MS explorer.

So this bug's summary should maybe be changed to "Cannot import eml file" or alike.
This is maybe related to bug 22878.

(And the component of this bug should probably be "Mail Window Front End".)

But, is EML file type universal file name for message files or it's Outlook's
message? So if I want to save a message, I should export it to Outlook's format
and then import it from Outlook format (silly?!)?

Well.

You can save idividual messages as EML files, and they can be opened by selected
File --> Open file...


Therefore im resolving this bug as worksforme. If there is any remaining issues
with import or display'ing the open eml file then please open separate bugs
