Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:53.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/53.0 Build ID: 20170504105526 Steps to reproduce: Pick a web page, any web page. Pick a link in that page, any link. Right-click (control-click) on the link and select "Open Link in New Tab". Left-click on the new tab and try to move it while it's loading. Actual results: The tab doesn't move while it (or any other tab) is loading. Once all tabs have completed loading, you can move it. Expected results: The tab should have moved with the mouse. I note that prior to FF 53 (or was it prior to FF 52?), one could move tabs while they loaded.

I can't reproduce it with FF53 on Win 7. Is it reproducible: 1) in safe mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode 2) with a fresh profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles?cache=no

Given that it doesn't happen in safe mode, is this worth doing?

If it works in safe mode, it works probably with a new profile too. That said, your issue could be related to a faulty add-on. You can disable your add-ons one by one to find the culprit.

The behavior continues with FF 53.0.3. It's not that the tab won't move; it's that its movement often lags the mouse. I click on the tab and slide the mouse over to where I want the tab and release the mouse button. A few seconds later I get the "thumbnail" image of the tab and it pops to where I released the mouse. At least sometimes that happens. Sometimes nothing seems to happen.
