Details
There are some settings that don't make sense to leave to defaults because they really should be spent time with in every deployment environment. For localdev, there are appropriate defaults but not for non-localdev environments. This is similar to how Django deals with SECRET_KEY but for specific settings where a default can only be set for localdev.
