While the idea behind the "buggy" message "Zarro Boogs found." is funny, the message may not be understandable to non-native English speaking persons and people that are not tech-savvy, as mentioned in bug 313647 comment 5. Therefore it can be a hurdle for those people when searching within Bugzilla.

For this reason it should be replaced by a more understandable (and serious) phrase like "Zero bugs found." or "This search didn't find any bugs.".

I'm sorry, but I will be unable to do this review. My apologies :-(

We're not going to fix this. I'd accept a patch that adds some text below the humorous message explaining what it means, but the patch on this bug is more complicated than it needs to be.

The patch contains simple replacements of ten lines. Can you please explain why that seems to be too complicated (especially more complicated than adding an explanational sentence)?
Also, I explained why the humorous message is counterproductive. What's the reason to stick to it?
And, why did you close the bug when you said you'd accept a patch that explains the message?

I suppose it isn't wontfix, the patch is just not what I'd accept.

What I would accept is a message that doesn't break the existing tests (so zarro boogs still exists on the page).

For reference, all new messaging tries to adhere to https://design.firefox.com/photon/copy/voice-and-tone.html

If we were completely blind to history I'd not include the "cute" phrase (and this would be in following the photon guidelines for voice and tone)

But at this point -- after almost 20 years -- I'm not going to remove it.

Now that "no search results" page is dreadful. It doesn't actually contain any messaging at all!
"Zarro boogs found" is merely in the space where a number is expected.

So we should have proper messaging in the case of no results, somewhat similar to a 404 result.

Something like this:

Hmm, we can't find any bugs that match your search terms

You may want to try using fewer or different search terms.

Also, a particular bugzilla install can already change the "Zarro Boogs" message if they choose by editing the variables.none.tmpl -- which is one of the standard customization points.
What I'll focus this bug towards is making the entire "no results found" page better.

Sounds good to me.

It still didn't change here on BMO. What's the reason?

It definitely did. The paragraph immediately following the historical jargon clearly states that nothing was found.
It perhaps should include more actionable language but that can be done in a followup bug.

Ah, sorry, I forgot that we concluded on the explaining sentence instead of rephrasing "Zarro Boogs found". So, everything's fine. Thanks!
