[Description:]
The search input string is reset when the browser is resized or moved and resized.

[Steps:]
1. Open FF and make sure it's in window mode.
2. Write something in the search panel.
3. Resize down FF until the search panel is not visible anymore.
4. Resize FF back to a normal size or just click on more tools to make it visible.

[Expected Result:]
The initial search input should be kept when the search panel becomes hidden.

This bug also exists in Nightly 53.
I agree this is annoying, but probably not very common.

Definitely want to fix, but no time for it right now.

Possibly related to the overflow menu -- like the search bar reinits itself when it's moved to the overflow menu and/or when it moves back to the navbar.
