A number of pages, including my own use http-equiv="refresh" to refresh the
client after a period of time. However, if Mozilla cannot contact the site
(either because the client is a laptop in standby or because the network
connection is otherwise interrupted (which happens frequently on my cheesy
DSL)), it displays a notice that it could not connect to the site and stops
there. No future refreshes appear to take place.

This is particularly annoying if you like to leave your browser open all day
hitting a news site.

A preferrable course of action would be as follows:

* Don't display the notice that you couldn't refresh (or otherwise don't make it
modal). If this is a preference, that is fine though probably unnecessary if you
retrict the non-display to meta-refreshes.

* Try again at the next scheduled time (i.e. act as if you had received a new
page with exactly the same refresh as the old).
confirming with win2k build 200200420..
