I get the two following uncaught errors that might be helpful to Google. Uncaught Jya {message: "Error in protected function: Failed to execute 'ap…Node': The new child element contains the parent.", stack: "Error: Failed to execute 'appendChild' on 'Node': …0/rs=AHGWq9CwXQJ7uoBTPoNNCTP-WIN2jvvu6g:1712:170)"} Uncaught Jya {message: "Error in protected function: Cannot read property 'offsetLeft' of null", stack: "TypeError: Cannot read property 'offsetLeft' of nu…u6g?fri=2d7040e1a997a715bd9b76aa7ab9abf0:243:137)"} Karl, can we reach out and let them know this is busted in Chrome and Firefox?

It works as expected on 52esr, 59.0.2. It seemed Gmail fixed the problem by themselves.
