For cross-channel on Beta, we need:

* initial content, m-c and c-c merged in one repository, one head
* updater code to maintain that single head
* merge localizable files across channels, at least two

Out of scope should be:

* running the updater in automation
* merging configuration files
* dealing with the actual merge (the first merge is just a fork for x-channel)
** debugancestors
** closed head
To be able to do cross-channel on Beta, we need a couple of work items to be done.

This tracks that work, so that we have a central point for other bugs to depend on.

:Pike I think we can call this done, though it has some open dependent bugs...

Yes, let's mark this fixed. The dependencies are mostly dating back to the plan of running automated x-channel generation first, and then use it. We're using it now, and work on automation as a follow-up, so that's cool.

Should probably also go through the dependency chain and mark some bugs as fixed these days :-)

Thanks for the reminder.
