Reading a message: start to create a filter for this message - doesn't seem to
matter how. Get to the 'New Filter' and create one.

FOR BEST RESULTS: do all the following using only the keyboard.

OK-dismiss the New-Filter dialog: frequently audible alarm <ding> as though a
bad keypress - maybe a hint to what's up.
OK-dismiss the Filters-List dialog: again, frequently an audible alarm.

You are now looking at the full-screen Message display.
Key (e.g.) Alt-M (MessageMenu). SHOULD BE - Drop down the Message menu, OBSERVED
<ding> alarm indicating an invalid keypress.
Click the mouse on the full-screen Message.
Try Alt-M again: success! Looks like Message screen didn't receive focus.

Try same sort of thing from the three-pane Summary view; I used ViewSource to
pick up the potential Filter value. Tools->MessageFilters->New . . . OK, OK.

Note, the selected message is hilighted grey, suggesting again that focus is
somewhere else. To confirm this, again try Alt-M. Sure enough: <ding>.
Reporter: can you confirm this still occurs with a new build? Try 1.0 final
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020905

Yes, exactly as described.
As reporter describes. Type in the information for a new filter, then hit ENTER
to activate the OK and create the filter. You should be able to move around the
Message Filters window now, but you can't. So far, I've only been able to mouse
click on OK to get out of message filters.

Suggest chaning summary to "Keyboard does not work in Message Filters window
after a new message filter has been created"

Re: Comment #3, this is not quite the situation I was reporting. My problem is
that *AFTER* dismissing the Filters dialog and returning to the
Stand-Alone-Message display, the program is not in the correct state to respond
to the keyboard. Therefore, I cannot, for example, delete the message using
either [DEL] or Alt+E,D, nor file the message using Alt+M,M,... .
To get the program into the right state requires to click the mouse on the
message window. Focus should be back where it was when the Filters dialog was
called up; it appears this is not the case.
mass re-assign.

Can you see if what you are describing still happens to you?
