User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0
Build ID: 20171024165158

Steps to reproduce:

Firefox 56.0.2 x64
Options/Never check for updates ON

Actual results:

updater.exe still wants to update firefox despite the above mentioned user setting.
this has actually happened twice to me, reinstalled firefox in between occurrences.

Expected results:

updater.exe should have respected the user setting (Options/Never check for updates) and not try to update firefox.
Component: Untriaged → Application Update
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
After removing updater.exe, firefox still notifies of failed update despite the above mentioned setting, see 2nd screenshot.

This typically happens when a different profile is used. That should no longer be the case on Windows since the setting

Is this still happening using the latest Firefox?
