If a profile has its data files deleted, Profile Manager appears when Mozilla is started. There is no explaination to this action until loading of the corrupted profile is attempted. Its only at this time that Mozilla explains that the profile is corrupted. Even worse, there seems to be no way to fix the profile. build 2002051408-trunk/WinXP

What exactly does it say when it explains this? AFAIK, we give an alert if the
entire profile directory has been deleted but not for corruption. Can you clarify?

I think this happens when your profile directory is there, but something (not sure what) points to the wrong location. This is how it happened to me: - Installed Mozilla on C: - Reinstalled Windows XP on a new drive E: - Copied all Program Files including Mozilla from C: to E: - Reinstalled Mozilla on E: - Ran Mozilla from E: without problems - Removed C: - Ran Mozilla from E: and had the problem previously mentioned

I believe this issue was fixed with the landing of bug 253950.
