I believe this regressed after patches for bug 1494789 have landed: --error-color seems to only be defined in webconsole.css where before --theme-highlight-red was used from variables.css I guess the easy fix is to define error color variable in variables instead of webconsole?

Otherwise, another option is to override the string color with error color within the webconsole itself.
