Details

When clicking the top right "M" icon, it jumps 1 pixel down
(seems like a bug rather than faking a "pressed button look").

When hovering over the "Send" button in the Mail Composing window,
it jumps slightly to the right. You can repeat this behaviour by
activating some other window and moving it over that button.
Then reveal the button again and hover over it.

When starting the Mail Client for the first time
and hovering with the mouse over the "Get Msgs" Button,
the button jumps slightly to the right.

When hovering the first time over the OK button
in the Preferences Dialog, the Button jumps slightly to the right.

When hovering the first time over the "Next" Button in the Mail Client,
its caption jumps slightly to the right (modern skin).

"Jump slightly right when mouse is hovering over button" bug
occurs with all buttons in Adress Book Toolbar

dito for all buttons in HTML editor

Reporter: Are you seeing this with both Modern and Classic theme?
i'm going to check if this affects classic/modern theme
(don't want to close my browser now) -

in the meantime:

here is another place where this happens:
it's the "Search" sidepar in the mozilla help

when hovering with the mouse over it, a small line appears
below the text "Search" (this seems OK), but also everything below
pops down 1 pixel and again up when leaving with the mouse.

skin positional calculations don't seen correct.

Severity:
I find this more and more annoying, Mozilla makes a very unprofessional
impression by this (though this is not the case, of course). The user
impression is: instability ("when they don't make it to calculate precisely
+/- 1 pixel, why should they when it comes to buffer overflow issues?")

please note this very carefully
confirmed to happen in the following themes

Modern
Classic
IE fake

I experienced that it makes a difference in which direction you are
entering/leaving the button with the mouse:
when entering/leaving from the left side, no jump occurs.
when entering from left, leaving to the right side, button jumps ro the right 1
pixel

build 2002053012
additional info:
OS was WinNT 4 SP6a
maybe you do a +/- 1 pixel errorneous calculation on that platform somewhere
this may be related to bug # 150399
WFM with 2002091008/trunk/win2k.

reporter (Christophe): can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of mozilla
(for example, 1.1)? if so, please comment again with details. if not, please
resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.
no response from reporter, resolving WFM.

reporter: if you can still reproduce this with a recent build of mozilla, please
reopen this bug. thanks.
