From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020609 BuildID: 2002060903 Hi there - Downloaded the latest nightly build (2002060903), and I've noticed that the preferences have been moved around a bit... unfortunately, the option to turn on server-specific image blocking is gone in this build. Please bring it back! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Look at the preferences under Privacy & Security (OS X version) 2. 3.

That's right - there used to be a check box for that, where "do not load images in mail and news" is now... which, if checked, would bring up a sheet every time images were attempting to load from a new server.

This very useful feature was removed from more than just Max OS X - this feature alone is stopping me from upgrading to a newer version on the PC.

Indeed, I can still block images from any server - if I'm willing to look at the page info and manually add any server's from which I don't want images. The previous version allowed me to enable a dialog that asked if I wanted to load an image from a server. While this is a bit of a pain at times, I enabled it to help minimize the loading of web bugs and pretty much anything that came from "ads.domainname.com", etc.. It could be disabled if a user did not want a dialog for every image. I feel that it is a very useful tool. For users who do not want to use the feature I agree that it should default to "off" - don't ask permission to load an image. This was the out of the box setting when it existed.

this feature is gone because it caused many crashes. see bug 145051 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 145051 ***
