I'm using moz 1.1a

when I drag the cursor to make a text selection from right to left, the browser
will jump back to the previous page when I release the button.

left-right selection doesn't cause any problem for me.
Do you have mouse-gestrudes activated?
yes (apparently by default upon installation)

probably a bug with Optimoz then
