The quick search design page tells "Selecting a different folder, newsgroup or
account cancels the search".

There are cases, though, where user wants to maintain the search when switching
to other folders. For example, I have two folders for incoming mail (filtered by
procmail), and an archive with subfolders for past years.

If I try to _quickly_ search all these 4-5 folders for messages, I have to type
the search string equally many times. Or use the advanced search, which is a bit
clumsy for a simple task like this.

This enhancement would also silence the people requesting the "Clear" button to
go away.

Sorry if this is a dupe, searched for it thoroughly.
