I sent the following e/mail to netscape feedback. generalfeedback@netscape.com
responded suggesting I use Bugzilla to suggest an upgrade.

Name : Ian Kirk

Email : daimio@juno.com

Product : Navigator

OS : Windows 98

Following Netscape downloading a file it attempts to open the file according to
the file's extension. If the application is not set up within Navigator
(Preferences ---> Navigator ---> Applications) then Netscape simply shows up an
application not found message and stops processing the download.

With Windows, when the user attempts to open a file where Windows does not
recognize the extention, it shows you the available readers for the user to
select from.

Can you add similar functionalilty to Navigator so that it offers the available
applications to select from, with the option to permanently define the
application to that file extension.

Unfortunately, generalfeedback@netscape.com is misdirecting people to
bugzilla.mozilla.org.

As we've already informed them; we don't handle Netscape enhancement requests, as
Mozilla is a totally different piece of software.

I'm not certainly offhand how this is implemented within Mozilla. Of course,
you're certainly welcome to download a build from www.mozilla.org, and see if the
implementation is how you think it should be, and re-open this enhancement
request if appropriate.
