Isn't this a problem of Microsoft?

No, microsuck's illegal terrorist methods to disable other's software is a world problem. It has happened before, on both WIN-DOS and on the Mac. And probably they will lean on what the EULA for that downgrade says... something like "we reserve the right to disable any other software which we believe is a security concern...". Now, security is not what microsuck is really concerned about (the words "secure" and "WIN-DOS" are mutually exclusive), but competition from a much more competent browser maker. I will not be surprised if this turns out to be the case here.

no blocker. Please close mozilla and run "mozilla -profilemanager" and create an ADDITIONAL test profile.

Do you have a link to the specific update which supposedly caused the issue?
There was a request for a link to the IE 6 security patch that caused the browsers' back, stop and forward buttons to cease working. In my case I received a security patch notice from Microsoft via the 'automatic Windows update' device on Windows 2000 SP3. I allowed the patch baed on the 'security threat' claimed by Microsoft (nikd at mac.com may have been correct!). So unfortunately I don't have 'a link'. However my IE 6 used to be v 6.0 and now it is 6.0.2800.1106 SP1, if that helps. I also tried creating a new profile as 'matti' at epost sugggested, with no luck.
I have uninstalled Mozzilla and reinstalled it. It now works fine. Creating a new profile did not help :<. Last 'security patch', I think I will download from Microsoft.
