the instructions under preferences > send format are really unclear. It states:
When you send a message to an address with one of the domain names listed below,
Mail automatically sends the message in the correct format. "correct format" is
really confusing and in fact my mum probably wouldn't know what HTML format is.
I want mozilla to be my mum's browser as well ;-) Unfortunately i don't trust my
own grammer or vocabulary to suggest an alternative but i thought i'd bring it
up anyways.

Brent, thanks for the feedback. What version of the Netscape browser were you
using? I believe the Netscape 7.0 help for Preferences - Send Format provides a
clear explanation along with examples. Please let me know if you think otherwise.
Apologies, Brent - we are in the process of updating the mozilla help content to
reflect the latest browser and mail help content, so you were probably looking
at an older draft of the help.
I think I was using Mozilla 1.1 for Mac OS X.
change some instance of "HTML" to "formatted text (HTML)"

could be "rich text (HTML)", dunno which is better

Verified on trunk (Moz1.8a5-1026); however, the dialog Thunderbird displays for
these prefs is a different entity (instead of radiobuttons to select the default
option, there's a dropdown) and the text changes in this patch don't appear in
TB 0.8+ (1029).
