User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016

First noticed this while tryting to save a page off of an ebay search. The save
as... dialog came up, I changed the file name, directory to save, and the method
of saving to HTML only. I hit the save button, and the dialog box disappears,
but nothing else happens. The original file name I used had a space in it, so I
tried an 8.3 filename, with no difference. I tried shutting the program down,
and the program crashed at exit. I tried restarting the program, and started
testing saving pages at www.mozilla.org, same problem. I tried creating a brand
new plain vanilla user profile, then saving pages with the same settings, no
difference. I tried rebooting, then logging in as another user with a different
profile, same error. The program appears to continue to otherwise function
normally.

Crashing on exit happens if I try to save a page multiple times before exiting.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to a web page
2. click save as... off of the file menu
3. fill in the dialog box, changing type to web page, HTML only
4. click save. The dialog box should disappear, but if you check the directory
you saved to, the file should not be there.
5. repeat this process 2 or 3 times, change a few parameters on the dialog box
each time.
6. close program. This should create a program crash.

Actual Results:
no web page was saved, the program crashed on exit after two or three attempts
to save a page

Expected Results:
save web pages as HTML files, and not crashed.

crash in appcomps.dll. i have a Pentium 4 2.2ghz w/512 MB RDRAM, running
blackice, Norton antivirus, microsoft's inellimouse driver, AOL 7.0.
Does removing compreg.dat fix this?
Summary: save as... web page, HTML only does not save pages; can cause browser crash on exit → save as... web page, HTML only does not save pages; can cause browser crash on exit
Cannot save regular HTML pages with Mozilla 1.2b (Build ID: 2002101612). Tried
with or wihtout download manager, tired "Web page, HTML only", "Web page,
complete", "Text file". Nothing is saved on Win2000 Server.
Same action, same build on Linux works fine (with download manager).

Mark, can you reproduce this on a new build of Mozilla?
I'm using 1.2.1 now and don't have the problem any more.
