Net-Print is a useful piece of shareware (a System Extension) for assembling and
printing a number of text clips from the internet. It works with text in a word
processor and it works with e-mails or internet files obtained by means of
Netscape 4.79. It does not work when Mozilla is used: all the items in the
Net-Print drop-down menu are dimmed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Drag Net-Print to the System Folder or the Extensions folder.
2. Start Mozilla and open a web page or an e-mail.
3. Select a portion of text, and open the Net-Print menu.
Actual Results:  
All the items in the Net-Print menu are dimmed and cannot be used.

Expected Results:  
The items in the Net-Print menu should be accessible and usable, as they are in
Netscape 4.79.

Mozilla: modern theme.  Mac G3 (old beige type): OS 9.2.2.

Michael, this is something you should report to the makers of NetPrint, not Mozilla.

Greg: I have reported it to the maker of the software (no reply so far), but as
there is no problem when using Netscape 4.79, I assumed that it was a Mozilla
special. (I haven't tried it with Internet Expplorer yet.)

I have now tried Net-Print with Internet Explorer and it does work there, so
that confirms my belief that the malfunction in Mozilla is a Mozilla problem.

Mozilla/Netscape 7 and Netscape 4.x use different API for content retrieval by
external application?

Re Daniel Wang's reversal of subject and object: it is, surely, relevant, is it
not, that the options in the Net-Print drop-down menu are dimmed as soon as
Mozilla starts – before any web content or e-mail text is selected in an attempt
to get Net-Print to process it?

Mozilla CFM build is dead.
