I did an advanced search in IMAP folder to move mail to another account. First issue was that there was no good progress indication during the move. The second issue and I have no idea if it is the client or the server (connection speed, etc.) but the move operation was very slow. I averaged about 40 moved messages per minute. Also, it wasn't immediately clear to me that "File" was a move and not a copy. Part of the reason was that my first attempt failed (no idea why) after about 300 of 2000 messages were moved and the delete never happened so for those 300 it looked like a copy. But when a my second attempt succeeded at moving all messages it deleted them from the old server so it was a move and not a copy if allowed to finish. Maybe more to come.

AFAIK: the missing progressmeter is another bug...

I've seen similar behavior on IMAP moves, both in the 1.3alpha I'm using and even on the old Communicator 4.x. An error, while moving messages from an IMAP folder to another folder on the same server, will cause messages that DID copy successfully not to be erased from the source folder. I saw this, specifically, with a 'COPY failed - no write permission or out of disk space.' error message. When all is said and done, if you're moving the same messages to a folder repeatedly and an error crops up, you'll get as many duplicates of successfully copied messages in the target folder as tries. I'd like the success of moving each message to be handled individually... if it gets copied successfully, delete it from the source folder. Moving IMAP message progress meter is Bug 80877 (that's the lowest #) As a sidenote, is there a bugzilla etiquette guide anywhere?
