User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 The European Commission has put forth a call for "experts" to register to assist them in their "Framework Proposal 6". It's a major push the Open Source Community is getting into, as it means a *lot* of governmental research, funding, and exposure by the EU. However, when people register through the appropriate page (the URL given in this form) there is a bug with point 25. It's supposed to show a list of keywords that people can select, but it appears there is a bug in the code on their site. However, the technical support department responsible (CORDIS) need to know why it's not working in order for them to be able to fix it. Sure, it's probably their fault, but if we don't somehow make this happen then we (the Open Source Community) lose out on a *lot* of opportunity. :-( Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to the above URL. It's a registration form. 2. Fill out whatever data you want in order to reach step 25. 3. When reaching step 25, it opens a subwindows that is supposed to give a drag-and-drop list of selectable keywords, but the list never displays. Actual Results: Fairly blank page without the needed list. Expected Results: Should have displayed a list of keywords that could be drag-n-dropped to another part of the window. Gervase Markham (gerv@mozilla.org) has further details about this (he recommended filing a "Tech Evangelism bug here). Ben Laurie <ben@algroup.co.uk> can also confirm the seriousness of this problem if need be. If possible we need to find out why the website code breaks, and then let the CORDIS team know. Registrations for the FP6 program close on the 31st of this month, but we should allow for the fact that they are a beaurocracy and have a process to follow to get everything done (probably very slow).

Added Gervase Markham to the CC list, so he is aware of the Bug ID number and can do the appropriate things.

Is this still an issue ?

Certainty not. Funny thing but I actually did register as an EU expert a few years after the bug was opened (2005 or 2006). Of course, I used a gecko based browser and I had no problems. I completely forgot about this bug - I would have closed it earlier. Marking as RESOLVED WORKSFORME.
