When composing mail, selected text can only be dragged to the top or bottom of
the visible message area. When reaching the top or bottom of the visible area,
the composition window does not scroll

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write a mail message that is larger than the visible area so that some of the
text is not visible.
2. Select some visible text using the left mouse button and hold the button down.
3. Drag the text to move it to a section of the message that is not visible.

Actual Results:  
Nothing

Expected Results:  
Window should scroll to display off-screen text

As far as I know, Mozilla/Netscape mail has always had this shortcoming.

Yossi David, is this bug still a problem for you?  I am getting the expected 
result using 1.3 final or 1.4RC3.

I am still experiencing this problem with 1.4RC3. When trying to drag text out 
of the visible composer window, the cursor changes to a circle slash and the 
window does not scroll.

Does it matter that I have been upgrading my Mozilla using the zip files and 
overwriting current files with new ones, rather than uninstalling and doing 
clean installs?

Confirming the problem still exists; reproduced easily in 1.4RC3.  (I must have 
misread the original report.)  Confirming.

Also, this seems like a bug, not a request for enhancement; upgrading severity.

Just a comment - bug also occurs in Thunderbird 1.5.0.7 (20060909) and ANY textbox in Firefox Firefox/1.5.0.7 (see Bug 357655 dup of this one)
I haven't used any of the Firefox 2.x series. Is this bug corrected in Firefox 2?
